Gatlinburg & Cumberland Falls

We love this area in Gatlinburg, not too far from our hotel.

Great breakfast at the Pankcake Pantry.

Good times at the pool.

Jack enjoyed the slide a couple of times, but decided it was too fast.  Instead he threw his action figures down it.

Hitting the arcades.

We stopped at Cumberland Falls on the way home.  Audrey got too hot, Jack loved it.

My handsome boy.

Ahhhhhh Savannah

The crazy bridge going to Savannah.

The view from our room.

Paula Deen's restaurant (we didn't eat there).

Like a postcard everywhere you looked.

This church was beautiful.

Taking a break, it was so hot!

The pool was on the roof.  The kids enjoyed it.

Outside our hotel, going to dinner.

Watching taffy being made in this awesome candy store.

Seeing the cargo ships was an amazing sight.  It looked like they couldn't fit under the bridge.

Bonaventure Cemetery outside of Savannah.

Bye Savannah!  We'll be back (minus the kids next time).

North Carolina mountains, heading to Gatlinburg.

Hilton Head 2012

This is where we stayed, in the Folly Field Beach area.

Audrey & Jack liked their room (and their own tv).

We had great weather almost every day.

Outside our condo, going out to eat.

Audrey's serious pose.

They enjoyed the pool, of course.

Audrey kept wanting to go in the deep end.

Trolley ride to Harbour Town in Sea Pines.

Sunset at Harbour Town.

I loved our walk to the beach.

They liked the puddles left behind when the tide was low.

Yummy ice cream.

They always make us do silly faces.

Was taking a long walk, looked back and a storm was coming!  Got soaked.

The kids loved their new boogie boards.

Last night at Hilton Head.

Last dinner was Old Oyster Factory.  Not good and cost too much!

Mom's Birthday and Relay for Life

On Friday before vacation, we had a busy day.  Luckily, I had already finished most of the packing the weekend before.  My mom's birthday was going to be on Saturday when we were gone, so we went to her house Friday to give her the present we gave her, and birthday cake.  Later that evening, we walked in the Relay for Life.  CTS had a team for the first time this year, so we gladly participated.  It was a really fun night, and all for a good cause.

Ready for Vacation

So, we had originally planned a short vacation this summer.  We were going to go to Mammoth Cave since both Tony and I have fond memories of going when we were little kids.  I know Jack would especially love it because he's into things like caves and waterfalls right now.  Then, we were going to drive up to Indianapolis for a few nights and go to the Children's Museum and Zoo and catch a minor league baseball game.  Once we checked on prices of hotel rooms and tickets, we realized it would be just as cheap to go to the beach.  So, luckily we found a condo available at the same place we stayed last year at Fiddlers Cove in Hilton Head.  I think we all 4 are ready to get away and relax and leave our worries at home for a week or so.  I am counting down the days and will post pictures when we return!
